Abstract
Blockchain is a distributed database that contains records, or public ledger of transactions of a digital event that have been executed and distributed among participating parties. Every transaction on the Blockchain is verified by the consensus of a majority of participants in the system. Once a transaction is entered, it can never be erased nor altered. The blockchain contains a verifiable record of every single transaction that is made. Supply chain management industries involve the movement of products, information or money from one point to another. The process of the supply chain is surrounded by a lack of security, transparency, and accountability. This paper is going to discuss how supply chain management can use one of the blockchain technology application to improve and integrate the process of their transactions and activities by connecting to a pervasive smartphone application that will enable all participants or actors to insert, retrieve, store, manage or discriminate information across the network. They also include a case study on how Walmart is planning to use blockchain hyperledger in tracking or tracing the origin of goods, an overview of blockchain hyperledger, drawbacks of blockchain technology with suggestions are also included.
